Hi, I'm Sheila! I'm a UX/UI designer. I'm also a fashion stylist and who knows how many more things I'll add to the list in the future.
My story with UX/UI design starts in the middle of the pandemic in 2020 when from my small shared flat in Leipzig (Germany) I discovered the free courses offered by CareerFoundry, which in case you don't know is an online academy based in Berlin.
Back in Spain in 2021, I decided to sign up for their certificate in UX/UI Design, working and studying at the same time (often in two places at the same time) to be able to pay for my studies.
And you might wonder how I go from being a stylist to a UX/UI designer. Well, if you think about it, they have a lot in common because in both industries the user is extremely important, understanding their needs and creating a product or service that helps them to achieve a goal, making the process easier for them. Also, in both industries, it is essential to be creative, something that has become a necessity in my life, and anything that encourages my creativity and helps me to get out of my comfort zone is welcome.
This is Me
And as random facts about me I'll tell you:
I love football (absolute fan of Athletic Bilbao) and Formula 1.
I have a small business with my mother in which we make accessories with epoxy resin.
I'm learning to do digital illustrations.
Sometimes I write short stories, thoughts and everything that comes to my mind.
I love learning words or expressions in different languages and lately, I'm learning Basque.
My creative mind needs inspiration and this is evidenced by my Pinterest where I have about 30 folders where you can find everything from pilates routines to fashion inspiration.
I prefer a good book to any series or film, and on my Instagram, I have a portfolio of highlights with all the books I read (and I remember to upload a photo).
